CROSSTECH® Fabric chosen for Bristol’s new XFlex™ structural range

Bristol’s new generation structural PPE, the XFlex™ design, has built on the levels of comfort and flexibility first achieved in the lighter weight construction of the Ergotech™ and Ergotech Action™ coats and trousers to achieve a step change in overall wearer comfort and all-round operational flexibility. Introduced in 2011, XFlex™ is a design platform which provides the basis for other PPE constructions, notably technical rescue garments.
Class leading ergonomic characteristics lie at the heart of a design capable of accommodating a range of three outer shells to provide wider user choice. All the options incorporate a CROSSTECH® Fireblocker moisture barrier, chosen for its excellent combination of heat stress reduction and thermal protection features. Being lightweight, and both durable and flexible, Fireblocker was a natural choice to meet the overall needs of the XFlex™ ergonomic design as well as providing protection against bloodborne pathogens.
Another addition to Bristol’s new generation of PPE is the latest USAR kit which adopts many of the ergonomic design features of XFlex™, incorporating a lightweight CROSSTECH® SR moisture barrier into a coat and trouser combination which provides the wearer with enhanced manoeuvrability through improved articulation at shoulders, elbows and knees as well as more generous gussets and pleats at key flexpoints.
