Firefighters who need a product offering EN 469 Level 2 protection or above should look for garments with Gore's Fireblocker 2-layer laminate. These garments offer thermal protection that can be adjusted to meet specific user requirements without changing any other components. This technology is lightweight and long-lasting.

The lightweight Fireblocker laminate is made up of an aramid non-woven fabric combined with an ePTFE membrane. GORE-TEX technology provides a moisture barrier that makes the garments durably waterproof. The orientation of the laminate determines whether the garment is optimised against thermal and liquid penetration, or for breathability: If the membrane is outside the thermal barrier, it protects the insulation from moisture. If it is inside the thermal barrier, the garment will be more comfortable.  Furthermore GORE® CROSSTECH® Product Technology provides protection against blood and body fluid penetration.

    Ideal for

    • Users who want a minimum level of thermal protection to meet EN 469 Level 2 protection.
    • Users who want a high level of thermal protection well in excess of EN 469 Level 2 protection.
    • Users who want a cost effective garment for EN 469 Level 2 protection.
