GORE-TEX Moisture Barrier with GORE® CROSSTECH® and AIRLOCK® Spacer Product Technologies
When speed and agility are needed
Firefighters often perform tasks requiring freedom of movement combined with EN469 Level 2 protection. Garments with GORE-TEX Moisture Barrier with GORE® CROSSTECH® and AIRLOCK® Spacer Product Technologies are lighter in weight and less bulky, which is key to preventing heat stress. Moisture escapes quickly, lowering the risk of heat stress and enabling faster drying out.
The GORE® AIRLOCK® system is composed of a 2-layer laminate of PTFE film on m-aramid/ p-aramid non-woven with chemical-resistant closed cell foam silicon spacers.
Combined thermal liner and moisture barrier drop liner construction reduces moisture stored in the layers of the garment which leads to faster drying time. The lighter weight garments reduce the risk of heat stress and allow the wearer to work safely for longer periods. The orientation of the laminate determines whether the garment is optimised against thermal and liquid penetration, or for breathability: If the membrane is outside the thermal barrier, it protects the insulation from moisture. If it is inside the thermal barrier, the garment will be more comfortable. Furthermore, GORE® CROSSTECH® Product Technology provides protection against pathogens transmitted through blood and body fluids.
